Lee
Lee Roy Selmon blends the advantages of a scholarship to football in his home with the benefits of community service. In the first place the Selmons were born with Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie, on a farm near Eufala located in Oklahoma as the youngest of their nine children. The Selmons were also among the three siblings who represented Oklahoma on the field of football. All three became All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey was an All-Star for the whole 1973 season. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was the best lineman in all of the nation. During his three years as the Oklahoma's quarterback of choice, the Sooners went 32-1-1 and captured two national titles. He was awarded a third scholarship in 1975, and was selected as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer hours per week during college. After graduating Lee Roy relocating to Tampa which is where he played for 9 years with the Buccaneers. There were three times he was selected All-Pro. He began his business career. In 1988, he was an Account Relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He also worked with the following organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. He was no surprise that In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy among the top ten outstanding young people across the nation. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in the height department and weighed 256 lbs when he was a student athlete. He captained the 1975 team. He was hired by the University of South Florida in 1993 as the Associate Director of Sports. Selmon has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
